Sketch Comedy in Philadelphia – December 14th through December 20th

This week is so full of sketch comedy shows in Philadelphia that it’s almost as if – Christmas came early/Hanukkah was extended/the Krampus didn’t bite off the appendages of your misbehaving child – this year. But before you get upset that I only noted the Christian, Jewish and Pagen gift giving holidays as metaphors… What’s that? It’s too late and you’re already upset? Okay, then we’ll just get to this week’s listings of sketch comedy in Philadelphia which features our own monthly Philly Sketchfest Presents showcases at The Adrienne Theater Playground including House of Solitude’s ‘Home for the Holidays’ featuring The Wire Mothers and host Jake Mattera at 8:30pm as well as Until Pluto’s “…Still Not A Better World” featuring Cynthia Marie’s Farewell Show and host Alex Pearlman at 10:00pm.

A light week for sketch shows in Philadelphia means all your energy and resources should be focused on getting yourself to the one and only sketch show this week, Welcome to Sicklerburg presented by House of Solitude. You’ll have two chances to catch the show this week at Philly Improv Theater (PHIT), with a different opening act each night. Thursday’s show features stand-up from Jake Mattera (HoagieFist) and Friday’s show features the return of Chucky McMelonmeyer – Regional Child Star. Sketch Comedy in Philadelphia – October 12th through October 18th

NYC Sketchfest at The PIT is this weekend and as we mentioned last week, Philadelphia will be represented by a plethora of groups. This week, musical sketch group Mean Wendy Band gets ready for their two shows at NYC Sketchfest with a local performance at Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) with musical improv duo, Cat & Vegas and the Temple of Boom. Not to be outdone, musical sketch/90’s alt-rock cover band The Flannel Chucks are also back on stage. PLUS, a brand new show from PHIT Sketch House Team Dog Mountain with guests Adventure Friends, Sweetish at The Sideshow, and an opportunity for anyone to get their material on stage at Sketch Up or Shut Up.
