It’s been quite a year for The Flat Earth. They began 2015 with performances at three of the largest North American sketch comedy festivals; Chicago, San Francisco and Toronto. After an incredible gauntlet of travel, performances and group bonding they returned to Philly at the end of March and put up a show of brand new material, mostly prepared from their time on the road. But it’s not just their drive and passion that makes The Flat Earth an incredible sketch group. It’s also the challenge they set for themselves creatively to not repeat their previous work while continuously challenging their audience’s expectations. Those who were fortunate to catch their recent show in August were treated to a set of sketches that utilized massive, dramatic build-ups, sometimes completely withholding jokes throughout in effort to set up end-of-sketch reveals and huge one-liners before blackouts. For any group this would be a gambit to pull off and The Flat Earth succeeded wildly. We don’t know what to expect in this current run, the last of the year for The Flat Earth, but we’ll be there waiting to find out. The Flat Earth is Jacquie Baker, Vincent DiCostanzo, Rich Lee, Matthew Schmid, Molly Silverman and Adam Siry. They are directed by Paul Triggiani (Secret Pants / Alley of Nightmares)

Opening this week’s run, High Dramma, a group that has been performing original sketch comedy in Philadelphia for the past five years. Fresh off their recent two-show appearance at PIT’s 2015 NYC Sketchfest, the group also performed at this year’s Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival. Regular performers at the Walking Fish Theater, the group is comprised of Jackie Wolfson, DC Fischer, Philly Sketchfest producer Curt Riedy, Sarah Braun and Kelly McCaughan.
